New Delhi: Indian actress kani Kusruti’s film ‘ All we imagine as light’ has caught a lot of attention and acclaim for its incredible performances by the actors. ‘All we imagine as light’ is directed by Payal Kapadia who is also the winner of the Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
Actor and Producer Rana Daggubati has acquired the rights to distribute the film across India. The story of the film follows around the life of a nurse whose life turns upside down when she receives a rice-cooker from her husband.
The nurse is staying with a roommate who is struggling in her own life and also looks for privacy to spent time with her boyfriend. The film got a limited screen release in Kerala on 21st September.
Who is Kani Kusruti?
Kani Kusruti is an Indian actress who was first noticed for her work in the film in 2009 ‘Kerala Cafe’. She won the best actress and Kerala State Film Awards in 2020. Kani Kusruti was born in a small village in Thiruvananthapuram.
Her parents dropped their last names from their names to erase the social hiearchy that comes with the last names in India. Kani then decided to add Kusruti as her last name which means mischievous in Malayalam for her class 10th exam.
Kani Kusturi later moved to Thrissur where she enrolled in a theater Arts program between 2005 to 2007. Her parents are regular guests in talk shows. Her mother is a community medicine specialist and social activist.
