Though the couple is known for keeping their private life away from the limelight, it appears like their elder daughter India is set to follow the footsteps of her parents in the entertainment industry.

India is a part of Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman starrer latest sequel to the Thor series called ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.

As the news broke out, Indian fans of the superhero franchise were indeed interested to know why an Australian actor and Spanish actress chose to name their first child after India. Well, read on to know:

Why did Chris and Elsa named their daughter after India?

Born on May 11, 2012, India Rose Hemsworth is the eldest of three children of the star couple. The duo named her India in order to pay homage to the country that holds a special place in their hearts.

“My wife spent a lot of time in India and that was where the name originally came from”, Hemsworth said during a conversation with news agency IANS in 2019.

Chris has also spend some time in India while shooting for his films. “I love the place and the people”, he added.
