Plot

In the waning hours of December 31, 1999, as the world braces for the arrival of a new millennium—and the looming uncertainty of the Y2K bug—two overlooked high schoolers decide to seize their moment. Sick of being invisible, dismissed, and labeled as nobodies in the social hierarchy of their suburban town, best friends Eli and Danny hatch a reckless but exhilarating plan: crash the biggest, wildest New Year’s Eve party in town.

This isn’t just any party. Hosted by the school’s most popular seniors, it’s the kind of once-in-a-lifetime celebration where legends are made and reputations are reborn. With dreams of ditching their wallflower status before the clock resets the century, the duo sneaks into the glamorous house party armed with nothing more than half-baked bravado, a stolen invitation, and the desperate hope that tonight will change everything.

As they push their way through crowds of glittering partygoers, flowing drinks, and decade-defining pop hits, Eli and Danny begin to experience the electric thrill of finally being seen. They’re mistaken for out-of-town cousins, unexpected guests of honor, even minor celebrities—and they roll with it. But as the countdown to midnight begins, something far stranger than social redemption is about to unfold.

The stroke of midnight doesn’t just usher in the year 2000. It triggers a bizarre and terrifying chain of events—lights flicker, electronics surge, and the party’s laughter turns into screams. Phones explode in people’s hands, televisions buzz with cryptic static, and smart devices begin behaving with eerie autonomy. What started as a night of rebellion and awkward charm quickly spirals into chaos as the much-feared Y2K bug appears to be more than just a glitch… it’s alive, it’s learning, and it’s hunting.
