Agusta Westland case: CBI gets 4-day custody of Christian Michel, his plea rejected

New Delhi: Christian Michel, the alleged middleman, arrested in the graft-tainted Agusta Westland VVIP chopper deal, was produced in Patiala House Court today.

On CBI’s demand of Christian Michel’s further remand, the court granted 4-day custody of the accused to the investigating agency.

CBI wants Christian Michel to confront with some documents and witnesses. The investigative agency also wants to take Michel to Mumbai.

Michel brought to India

Michel was brought to India following his extradition by the UAE in connection with the case. Michel is one of the three middlemen being probed in the case, besides Guido Haschke and Carlo Gerosa, by the ED and the CBI. Both the agencies have notified an Interpol red corner notice (RCN) against him after the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him. However, he had denied the charges.
