New Delhi: Croatia ended the fairly-tale run of hosts Russia in the FIFA world cup by defeating the latter by 4-3 on penalties, after drawing the match 2-2 in extra time. With this win, they advance to semi-finals where they are set to face England on Thursday (AEST).

But, the highlight of the evening was celebration of Croatian President in the stadium.

Croatia’s first female President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic was in attendance on the night her team dumped hosts Russia out of the tournament.

Grabar-Kitarovich watched the game, that took place at Sochi’s Fisht Stadium, from a VIP box alongside Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Seated beside FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev in the VIP section, she was seen raising her hands and doing a little victory dance to celebrated Croatia’s second goal.
