Delhi air hostess Anissia Batra had ‘excessive’ alcohol in her blood reveals post mortem report

New Delhi: A new report in the death case of Delhi air hostess Anissia Batra suggests that she was under influence of alcohol at the time of killing herself.

In a new revelation in Anissia Batra case, the charge sheet filed by Crime Branch on 12th October in front of the magistrate mentions the high level of alcohol content found the quantity of alcohol to be 298mg/100ml of blood.

The charge sheet also cites two eyewitnesses who claim to have seen Anissia standing alone on the railing of the terrace before falling to her death.

The in-laws (aged 71 and 65) of the Anissia Batra surrendered on 1st November 2018 and have been in Judicial Custody since.

The husband Mayank Singhvi is in custody since 17th July, 2018.

The 39-year-old Anissia Batra, an employee with Lufthansa Airlines at the time of the incident, on July 13, was reported to have committed suicide by jumping off her residence situated on the fourth floor in Panchsheel Park.

Her family had alleged harassment on account of dowry at the hands of her husband and in-laws to be the cause for her to take the extreme step.

She was married only about two and a half years ago to Mayank Singhvi, a software engineer with a private firm. In June 2018, her father had reportedly written to the Delhi Police saying that if any harm is inflicted upon his daughter, her husband should be held responsible for the same.
