Court orders framing of charges against former TERI chief RK Pachauri

New Delhi: A city court on Friday ordered framing of charges against environmentalist RK Pachauri in a sexual harassment case.

The Metropolitan Magistrate Charu Gupta ordered framing of charges under sections 354 (outraging her modesty), 354 A (making physical contact, unwelcome and sexually coloured remark) and section 509 (teasing and using vulgar gesture and actions) of the Indian Penal Code.

On February 13, 2015 an FIR was registered against him and he was granted anticipatory bail in the case on March 21.

“This has not been easy. This is a big leap towards the truth. I am relieved and exhausted fighting RK Pachauri,” the rape survivor was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Pachauri is on bail since 2016.
