New Delhi: Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh stoked fresh controversy by equating opposition parties to supporters of terrorist Osama Bin Laden.

Slamming the Opposition for ganging up against National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for 2019 general elections, BJP leader Giriraj said, “Maoists, casteist, communists and Osamavadis have united against the NDA”. He, however added that the NDA government will overcome all the hurdles because of its development plank.

Opposition to supporters of Osama bin LadenSingh’s dig comes at a time when opposition is uniting across the country to stop the Modi juggernaut.

Singh’s comment came a day after BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra tweeted how the united Opposition and Pakistan-based terrorist Hafiz Saeed were trying to stop Narendra Modi from becoming the prime minister in 2019.

Earlier, Patra tweeted ‘Hafiz-Opposition comparison’

“It’s not just the not yet formed “Mahagathbandhan” that desperately wants to stop India from having Modi as its PM in 2019, there are others as well desperately trying for d same! Hafiz Saeed openly saying that he will shed blood of Narendra Modi,” he said in his tweet as he posted a video of Saeed.

The BJP spokesperson later tweeted and said that he is not trying to compare the two, the anti-BJP alliance and Hafiz Saeed.

“Off course this is not a comparison! Modi Ji’s attack on Black Money and corruption is getting the opposition in India on one page while His attack on terrorism & Surgical Strike is pushing Hafiz Saeed to desperation! This proves that the Modi government is moving the right way!” Patra had tweeted.

Giriraj, BJP leader not new to controversy

Oppn to supporters of Osama bin LadenHowever, this is not the first time Giriraj Singh has courted controversy. Just before last general election, he said that those who don’t support Narendra Modi, can go to Pakistan. There was massive outrage at that time. However, after BJP was voted to power, Giriraj Singh was inducted in the Union Cabinet.
