Rafale row: BJP to hold 70 press conferences on Monday to expose ‘Congress lies’
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to turn the tables on Congress on the Rafale fighter jet controversy, after the Supreme Court rejected all writ petitions demanding court-monitored probe in the defence deal.
In a bid to carpet bomb the Congress, the BJP has planned 70 press conferences across the country to expose ‘Congress’s conspiracy’ against the government.
Notably, the Congress has been relentlessly attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the multi-million dollar deal.
Union minister Jitendra Singh will address the press conference in Chandigarh.
Party media in charge Anil Baluni said the aim of these press conferences was to “expose Congress attempts to jeopardise the security of country and conspiracy against the BJP-led government”.
“The BJP will unmask the Congress’ conspiracy against the government and its attempt to play with national security after the Supreme Court has categorically stated the truth about that the Rafale deal,” Anil Baluni said.
Adityanath, Devendra Fadanvis, Vijay Rupani, Sarbananda Sonowal, its chief ministers in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Assam, respectively, will address the media in Guwahati, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Agartala, respectively.
Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar, P Nadda, Smriti Irani, Suresh Prabhu, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and party’s organisational leaders will also speak to the media at different places.
The BJP President Amit Shah has already demanded an apology from the Congress President for ‘pedalling lies’ on Rafale. However, Rahul has stuck to his guns and has been alleging corruption in the scam.
