New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang- raped and brutally beaten up by four men in Gurgram on Sunday.
The woman suffered serious head injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital, where her condition is ‘stable’, according to the police.
According to police, all the accused, aged between 20 and 25, were arrested within hours of the crime.
According to reports, the incident took place in Gurgaon’s DLF Phase 2, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), DLF, Karan Goyal said over the phone.
The accused has been identified as Ranjan, Pawan, Pankaj and Gobind. Pawan is an office boy and all the others are delivery boys with Zomato and Swiggy.
A case was registered against the accused persons under Sections 376 D (gang rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code at DLF phase 2 police station on Sunday, said police. According to National Crime Records Bureau’s ‘Crime in India’ report, 159 gang rape cases were registered in Haryana in 2019.
