Ram Rajya Rath Yatra to kick off from Ayodhya..See schedule, route and PICs

Lucknow: In order to push the fast construction of Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, the affiliated groups of RSS like Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) will launch the ‘Ram Rajya Rath Yatra’ from Ayodhya today.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the ‘Ram Rajya Rath Yatra’ today, which will cover six states over the next 41 days.

The Yatra will commence from Karsevakpuram in Ayodhya and will travel to Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu where it will culminate on March 23.

The Yatra will be flagged off from Karsevakpuram — a workshop set up in by the VHP in the 1990s, where workers carve pillars in the hope they will be used in the construction of the Ram Temple one day.

The yatra is being seen as an effort to consolidate Hindu votes for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Rath Yatra route and schedule:

The rally will pass through six states including Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to reach Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu where it will conclude.

According to reports, a converted Tata mini truck will act as a rath for the duration of the rally that is expected to pass through Congress-ruled Karnataka and CPI(M)-ruled Kerala, where the BJP have been trying to expand their political footprint for quite some time now.

During the 39 days of ‘Ram Rajya Rath Yatra’, nearly 40 public meetings will be held to revive the Ram temple movement before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

These meetings are aimed at making the Ram temple issue the Bharatiya Janata Party’s main poll plank ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due next year.

Non-BJP ruled states like Kerala have raised apprehensions about the yatra especially in view of the 1990 rath yatra held by veteran BJP leader L K Advani, which allegedly triggered a spree of violence in several parts of the country.
