Sanjay Dutt biopic postponed!

Ranbir Kapoor is grabbing all the headlines for his physical transformation for Sanjay Dutt biopic. However the wait to see him on the silver screen just got longer! While initially the makers had announced Christmas 2017 as the film’s release, according to trade buzz the yet untitled film will hit the screens only in March 2018. The much awaited biopic will narrate Sanjay Dutt’s journey from his early days in the industry to his release from Yerwada Jail in 2016. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the biopic has been shot mostly in Mumbai, while a few scenes have been canned at Dutt’s plush Mumbai residence.

Hrithik denies casting for ‘Krrish 4’

After ‘Kaabil’, Hrithik Roshan has not announced any major project, and all his concentration is currently on ‘Krrish 4’. Speculations are doing the round since long as to who will play his leading lady in this successful superhero franchise. Priyanka Chopra, who was seen in ‘Krrish’ and ‘Krrish 3’, is said to be roped in for the fourth instalment too. Giving an update on the film’s casting, Hrithik says, “We are still working on the script right now. We have not reached that stage of casting.” Hrithik announced December 2018 as the tentative release date of the film.

Chef’s release date postponed to avoid clash with Jagga Jasoos?

Ranbir Kapoor’s maiden home production ‘Jagga Jasoos’ has fixed July 14 as its big screen release, clashing with Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Chef’ and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Haseena’. According to trade reports, the makers of ‘Chef’, T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment, are planning to postpone their film, directed by Raja Krishna Menon, to August to avoid direct clash with ‘Jagga Jasoos’. Interestingly, Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled as well as Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ are releasing in August and it remains to be seen how ‘Chef’ will make space for itself.

Akshay in another real life rescue drama

Akshay Kumar seems to have a new found interest in real life drama. After successful films like ‘Rustom’ and ‘Airlift’, the actor-cum-producer has bought the rights of Raniganj Coalfield rescue mission which took place in 1989. JS Gill, Additional Chief Mining Engineer risked his life in the operation to rescue 64 miners trapped underground. A large hole was drilled on the surface and Gill went down the borehole in a rescue capsule to evacuate of the miners. Akki is set to play the rescue hero in this operation that will be made for the silver screen.
