New Delhi: Hours after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that Delhi Police had put Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under ‘house arrest’, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia tried to enter his residence this afternoon but was reportedly denied the same.
Sisodia claimed that Delhi Police was lying on Kejriwal’s house arrest.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Sisodia said, “Several MLAs stand outside CM residence. The police are not allowing us to go inside. But still, the police are falsely saying that there is no house arrest.”

Sisodia claimed that the police acted against Chief Minister because the AAP govt refused to convert stadiums into temporary open jails to detain the protesting farmers.

“Arvind Kejriwal Ji had failed their plans to put the farmers in jail, now they are afraid that they might come out to support the farmers’ bandh,” he tweeted in Hindi.

Demonstration and sloganeering outside CM’s residence
Sisodia and AAP workers tried to go inside CM Kejriwal’s residence at noon but police told them to cut number of visitors. AAP workers were unrelenting and they started shouting slogans against police while Delhi Deputy Chief Minister sat on dharna outside Kejriwal’s residence.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police have hit back at the allegations saying the deployment of police personnel outside the CM’s residence is just for his security. “We are allowing everyone inside who CM Kejriwal wants to meet,” said a senior police officer.
Delhi North DCP Anto Alphonse said routine deployment of security and checks have been made outside the Chief Minister’s residence, nothing else.
