Ahead of Baisakhi, Punjab Police on high alert, all leave cancelled

New Delhi: The leaves of all the all cops in Punjab has been cancelled in the state till April 14 after Sources said that the radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh sought a meeting of the Sikhs later in this month.

This comes a week ahead of Baishaki celebration in the state, and at a time when fugitive radical Sikh leader Amritpal Singh has urged Shri Akal Takht Sahib to hold a ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ to discuss the Sikh issues.

Baishaki is celebrated every year on April 14.

On Thursday (April 6) Akal Takhth jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh  issued a statement to announce a three-day annual congregation at Takht Damdama Sahib to celebrate Baisakhi.

Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh has been on run since March 18 after Punjab Police launched  a massive man haunt for him. Amritpal Singh also released two videos and one audio clip from hiding.

Earlier today, there were reports about about his surrender at Golden Temple or any shrine before Baisakhi, however, Punjab Police called it fake news and factually incorrect

Now a new report has revealed that before coming to India, Amritpal Singh had undergone cosmetic surgery in Georgia to look like Khalistani militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

This was revealed when Singh’s aides who is currently lodged inside Dibrugarh Central Jail told Intelligence officer during questioning.

After Punjab police launched a massive man haunt for him his close aide including his uncle Harjit Singh and Daljit Singh Kalsi were arrested.
