New Delhi: Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed Akasa Air is the newest airline that will join the Indian skies for providing a budgeted service.
The airline launched bookings for flights between key cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Kochi from today. It has also opened booking of tickets for 28 weekly flights that will fly on Mumbai-Ahmedabad and Bengaluru-Kochi routes.
The airline is set to launch its first commercial flight on August 7 by operating its first service on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. The airline will launch commercial operations with 2 new Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
“We kick-start operations with flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, with the brand-new Boeing 737 Max aircraft,” Praveen Iyer, co-founder and chief commercial officer, said.
Services from Mumbai will begin from August 7 and from Bengaluru, it will start 6 days later, the airline Air Asia said in a statement.
Earlier, the Akasa Air said that it is the first airline to have introduced custom trousers and jackets and also comfortable footwear for pleasant experience.
Fare And Route Details
• Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight to cost ₹3,948, time taken would be 1.20 hour
• Ahmedabad-Mumbai returning flight to be charged at ₹3,906.
• Bengaluru-Kochi flight to cost ₹3,483, time taken would be 1.15 hour
• Return flight from Kochi to Bengaluru to be charged at ₹3,282
Akasa Air will operate a daily flight between Mumbai & Ahmedabad. It will depart from Mumbai at 10.05 AM in morning while from Ahmedabad, it will operate return flight at 12.05 noon. Wednesday will be an off day from both locations. The prices of flights have been pegged between 3,900 to Rs 4,300.
