Amazon apologises for selling Indian Flag-themed doormats
Earlier in the day, Amazon removed the items from its website after EAM’s warning to cancel a visa for their employees and demanded the unconditional apology.
“Amazon India is committed to respecting Indian laws and customs…At no time did we intend or mean to offend Indian sentiments,” Amit Agarwal, Vice President, and Country Manager, Amazon India said in his letter to Swaraj.
The letter was posted on Twitter by MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup.

The doormats bearing Indian flag had outraged many people among the Indian diaspora in Canada, who posted pictures of them on social media and urged the foreign minister to formally object.
