New Delhi: With the Rajya Sabha elections approaching and Congress facing a bumpy road ahead owing to its reduced strength in several states, the party has started moving its legislators to private resorts to ward off any poaching attempt by rival parties.

By shifting its MLAs to resort, Gehlot administration has stonewalled rivals attempt to lure them but its worries are far from over.

A couple of Congress leaders, who are upset with CM Ashok Gehlot, have opened front against the party and are complaining about latter’s dictatorial ways. These are legislators who were earlier in Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) and defected to Congress 2 years ago. At couple of occasions, they saved the party from crisis.

Venting his outburst against Gehlot, Rajendra Gudha said that the Chief Minister speaks a lot but doesn’t do much.

“We were made big promises by party but nothing materialized,” Gudha, who is minister in Gehlot govt said.

Gudha is accompanied by a flock of 5 other leaders who had switched to Congress from BSP and are currently MLAs in Rajasthan govt. They reached Udaipur along with Congress MLAs but inspite of staying in resort, they went to Sariska Tiger Park.

Another Congress MLA Wazib Ali, venting his disappointment with party, said they have saved Gehlot regime many a times but didn’t get due in return.

“It’s time that Gehlot regime listens to us & our demands, else we have a long political career ahead,” he said.

The Congress party is sniffing danger specifically in two states Haryana & Rajasthan. Gehlot govt has already shifted its MLAs to Udaipur hotel while Haryana is sending its legislators to Raipur’s Mayfair Lake Resort in Chhattisgarh, another Congress ruled state. The decision to move MLAs to resort stemmed from the fear of losing out 1 seat each in Haryana & Rajasthan after media barons Subhash Chandra and Kartikeya Sharma filed nominations as Independent candidates, apparently at the backing of BJP.
