The Chief Minister further informed that preparations to start such schools in 57 districts are underway.

CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: India’s former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, had a vision of providing world-class facilities and infrastructure to the economically weaker sections of the country. To realize the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s ideology, Uttar Pradesh has established 18 Atal Residential Schools with the inspiration of PM Narendra Modi, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday.

CM Yogi Adityanath interacted with teachers and students in the ‘Atal Residential School Guruvarta Sangam’ program organized at Lok Bhavan Auditorium on Friday. He underlined that these institutions will not only provide education to underprivileged children but also instil Indian values and Gurukul traditions, raising a generation of youth who will carry India’s cultural heritage worldwide.

The Chief Minister mentioned that Atal residential schools with world-class facilities spread over 12 to 15 acres are operational on a CBSE pattern in 18 divisions of the state so far. He said that these schools will not only be centres for the skill development of students but will also pave the way for integrated development for the children of labourers, the marginalized, and the underprivileged, who contribute to the state’s progress.

The Chief Minister further informed that preparations to start such schools in 57 districts are underway.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi distributed school kits to selected students of Atal Residential Schools and wished them success in the future.

Furthermore, the introduction of Atal Residential School and the website related to these schools, ‘http//www.atalvidyalaya.org’ were also launched.

We must innovate rather than rely on fate, says CM

While addressing the principals of 18 Atal Residential Schools, 130 selected teachers, 137 outsourcing staff, and 848 MTAS and junior personnel in the program, CM Yogi said that we started the Bal Seva Yojana (Child Welfare Scheme) for the children who lost their parents during the COVID period. He said that these children will also be given the benefit of admission to these schools.

“The aim is to make students self-sufficient and self-reliant when they come out of these schools after six years. Teachers will have to ensure this and make new efforts to do so. Remember, we don’t have to be bound by fate, we have to innovate”, he added.

Self-reliance will become the key to success

CM Yogi mentioned that our problem is that every individual becomes dependent on others. He remarked that the government constructs grand buildings and provides facilities, but the beneficiaries do not take responsibility for maintaining them. He emphasized that those who use these facilities are also accountable for their maintenance.

The Chief Minister mentioned that cleanliness, hygiene, and maintaining a clean environment are essential for the holistic development of students. “Discipline is necessary, and indiscipline at any level should not be tolerated”, he said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed the importance of sports, competitions, and being aware of what’s happening in the country and the government’s new schemes. He said that students should be encouraged to visit libraries.

“Additionally, in residential campuses, principals and teachers should guide students through speeches on national religious festivals, imparting knowledge about cultural and behavioral values”, he added.

On this occasion, Minister of State for Labor and Employment Manohar Lal Mannu Kori, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of Labor and Employment Department Anil Kumar, Mohanlalganj MLA Amresh Kumar, and Director General of Atal Residential School, Nisha Anand, were prominently present.

Principals and children expressed gratitude to CM Yogi

According to Amar Kaur, the principal of the Atal Residential School in Bulandshahr (Division Meerut), the creation of these institutions is a blessing for the education of the youth from underprivileged groups in society.

Sukhbir Singh, Principal of Atal Residential School, Lucknow, said that this is the dream project of CM Yogi. In this, children of registered workers will get admission through an entrance exam. Children who lost their parents during the COVID period will also be given free education with world-class facilities in these schools by the Uttar Pradesh government. These schools, equipped with separate hostels for male and female students, will go beyond while working on the lines of Navodaya Vidyalayas in shaping children into cultured citizens.

It is noteworthy that the faces of the children lit up after receiving the school uniform, trousers, kurta, mosquito net, books and bags, and chocolates from CM Yogi. Students who received kits from CM included Sana Bano, Manju Rajbhar, Alok Kumar and others. Everyone expressed happiness by thanking the Chief Minister.
