Riteish Deshmukh to act in one more Marathi film

Riteish Deshmukh
Riteish Deshmukh will soon be seen in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj biopic, which is a Marathi film that he is producing, as well as playing the legendary titular character. Commenting on his active participation in Marathi cinema, Riteish says, “I always wanted to do Marathi cinema and I finally got the opportunity to work in a film. Before that, I had produced two films (‘Balak Palak’ and ‘Lai Bhaari’). I am born in a Maharashtrian family and it goes without saying that I will work in Marathi cinema, even if no one watches.” Interestingly, Salman Khan has agreed to play a small part in this project.

Vivek ready to watch Salman’s Dabangg!
Vivek Oberoi will be seen in a cop avatar in Yash Raj Films’ comic caper ‘Bank Chor’. At a recent media event, when he was asked for a reaction on Salman Khan, who has played a cop in the successful franchise ‘Dabangg’, Vivek said, “He indeed does act very well and when the third part comes out, I will also go to watch it,” with a big smile. It looks like Vivek is set to let bygones be bygones. Almost a decade and a half ago, Vivek and Salman allegedly fought over Aishwarya Rai, who was first said to be having an affair with Sallu, and then with Vivek.

Shruti Haasan walked the red carpet at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival with the team of ‘Sanghamithra’ as she features in that. However back in India, the ravishing beauty has walked out of the project, which is touted to be the next ‘Bahubali’. She also released an official statement through her PR, which reads: “Shruti has, unfortunately, had to take a call not to be part of ‘Sangamithra’. Knowing it was a massive undertaking and a long commitment spanning over two years, she knew the importance of her training, a comprehensive script and proper date calendar. Despite her enthusiasm and commitment, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper bound script neither an apt date calendar.” Directed by Sundar C, Shruti was to play a fierce warrior in the film. Producers Sri Thenandal Films shared, “Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are unable to proceed working with Shruti Haasan in ‘Sangamithra’.”

The actress has now bagged a major role in Nikkhil Advani-produced ‘Baazaar’. Chitrangada Singh will play Saif Ali Khan’s wife in this thriller, based on the stock market. Chitrangada will portray a powerful character named Mandira, while Saif Ali Khan plays a businessman, with Radhika Apte as his secretary. ‘Baazaar’ will be directed by Gauravv K Chawla and will mark the debut of Rohan Mehra, son of yesteryear actor Vinod Mehra.
