New Delhi: Taking a strong initiative towards eliminating corruption from the government machinery, Tripura Chief Minister today launched a WhatsApp number, where the citizens can directly lodge the corruption complaints with the CM office.
The Chief Minister launched WhatsApp number 8794534501 and assured that action would be initiated within 24-hours and the identity of the complainant would be kept secret. However, the complainants must produce relevant documents to substantiate their graft claim.
Biplab Deb tweeted, “Our aim is zero tolerance policy against corruption. To bring more transparency in Governance, we are launching a WhatsApp no: 8794534501, where you can complain with evidence regarding any corruption and we will take action within 24 hours. Your identity will be kept secret.”

This comes a week after two senior health department officials, dealing with the purchase of coronavirus kit, were accused of bribery.
Tripura health secretary Debashis Basu and National Health Mission Director Aditi Majumder, in charge of procurement of medical kits, protective gears, medicines and sanitizers, were removed from their posts after charges of corruption surfaced against them.
