BJP appoints new party chiefs in Gujarat and Ladakh, both are Lok Sabha members

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday appointed CR Paatil and Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, both Lok Sabha MPs, as chiefs of its Gujarat and Ladakh units respectively.

Paatil, a third-term MP from Navsari in Gujarat, replaces Jitendrabhai Vaghani, a statement issued by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said.

Paatil is also co-incharge of the Bihar unit of the BJP.

Both appointments made by BJP President JP Nadda come into effect immediately, party General Secretary Arun Singh said.

Namgyal came into the limelight with his speech in Parliament last year over the bifurcation of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories.

Namgyal, 35, is a first-term MP from Ladakh and had hit the headlines for his energetic speeches in Parliament.
