Andhra Pradesh: Blast at Kadapa limestone quarry, at least 10 laborers dead

CM Reddy has inquired with the officials concerned about the cause of the accident and ordered an inquiry into it.

New Delhi: At least 10 people died in an explosion which occurred at the limestone quarry situated in Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa on Saturday. Several other laborers are feared trapped under the debris. The incident took place at Mamillapalle village near the Kalasapadu block this morning. All the victims used to work as laborers in the quarry.

According to Mohan Reddy, Porumamilla Inspector of Police , the explosion took place at the time when detonators were being shifted to the quarry site. Most of the victims are believed to reside in Pulivendula, the native village of Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
