New Delhi: Chandrayaan – 3, the third edition of India’s moon mission is set to take off today at 2.35 today. The spacecraft will launch from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota. The Mission comes a follow-up of Mission 2, which failed in September 2019 due to technical glitch.
For the mega event, more than 200 students have arrived at Sriharikota centre.
Prime Minister, currently on three-day to France & UAE, also extended good wishes as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) readies for the launch. “This remarkable mission will carry the hopes and dreams of our nation,” PM Modi tweeted.

The Chandrayaan – 3 spacecraft will make its landing on the Moon after over a month long journey. The landing is slated for August 23.
The work on Chandrayaan-3 commenced in January 2020 with launch planned in 2021 but Covid-19 pandemic led to unforeseen delay.
