New Delhi: Charanjit Singh Atwal, former Speaker of Punjab Assembly, joined BJP today in the presence of JP Nadda in Delhi.
His son Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal is contesting Jalandhar Lok Sabha bypoll as BJP candidate.
Last month, Charanjit Singh Atwal, 86, resigned from the primary membership of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
He was the deputy speaker of the Lok Sabha from 2004-2009.
He was the speaker of Punjab assembly twice.
