Chidambaram moves SC against HC order denying bail

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Chidambaram, sought an urgent listing of the plea. He told the bench, that Chidambaram has been in jail for around 90 days.

New Delhi: Former Finance minister P Chidambaram on Monday approached the Supreme Court, challenging the Delhi High Court’s order denying him bail in the money laundering case lodged by Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The matter was mentioned before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India S A Bobde.

The bench said the bail plea would come up for hearing either tomorrow or day after.
