CM Rupani dedicates development works of Rs 705 crore in Panchmahal District

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday laid foundation stone and dedicated developmental works of Rs 705 crores in Panchmahal District. Extensive water supply and irrigation schemes are being implemented by the government in the state in comparison to the water crisis faced during the congress rule.

Pure drinking water is being delivered to remote areas through 1 lakh km long pipeline distribution network. We have solved the problem of water scarcity through project based on major river like Narmada, Ukai, Kadana, Panam and Mahi, said CM.

Gujarat has adopted a prominent direction of water grid network as like gas grid and power grid.

Addressing at Mahalana of Shehra taluka, Gujarat CM said that, in just last fifteen days’ various water supply schemes worth Rs. 4,000 crores have been laid foundations or inaugurated in the state.

“Our Government is working towards the target of providing tap connections to one lakh households per month to realize our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modis vision of “Nal se Jal”. So far 82 per cent of the work has been completed in rural areas. We are determined that by the year 2022,
all households in the state will have access to tap water,” added CM Rupani.

Rupani said that earlier the total budget of the state government was Rs. 9,000 crores. Out which Rs. 700 or 800 crores were allotted to some departments. Today the State Governments budget has reached 2.10 lakh crores.

In past the foundations stones of developmental works were laid and no further progress was done but our government lays the foundation stones and also inaugurates that projects. Although the Narmada Dam was completed decades ago, there have been attempts to scrap the project. Many hindrances were raised but as Mr. Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister the project got completed.

Mr. Rupani said that, it was said that if one rupee is allotted by the Central Government than only 15 paisa would reach to the citizen during congress rule, but now our government has realized a corruption free process and transparent government.

At one-time people of Gujarat did not even had pure drinking water and corruption was carried out in water supply also due to which people had to drink salty, contaminated water which led to several diseases.

Mr. Rupani added that the state government is committed for the development of all. Farmers have been demanding since years to get water for irrigation during the day time. Farmers had face many problems to go for irrigation during the night time and also have the fear of wild animals.

Kisan Suryoday Yojana has been implemented to solve this problem. In the first phase, farmers of 1055 villages of the state are getting agricultural electricity during the day. After that, in the second phase, electricity will be provided to the farmers of two and a half thousand villages during the day. It is planned that by 2022, farmers in all the villages of the state will get electricity on a during the day time. We are constantly working towards making farmers prosperous. The state government has purchased produces of Rs. 17,000 crore from farmers at minimum support prices in the last four years.

During the Covid pandemic also the development works have not stopped. Central Government has also given approval for use of one vaccine in case of emergency. Vaccination against the corona virus will now begin in the state in the next week or so.

On the occasion Mr. Rupani dedicate the Haredja Juth water supply scheme at Morwa Hadaf built at cost of Rs. 136 crores. With the implementation of this scheme, drinking water facility will be available to more than 2 lakh people in 51 villages of Morwa Hadaf taluka. Construction of Polytechnic College at Halol at a cost of Rs. 22.43 crore, Construction of Arts and Science College at Morwa Hadaf at a cost of Rs. 17.21 crore, Construction of Arts and Science College at Jambughoda at a cost of Rs. 15.90 crore and Chanchopa Model School in Godhra taluka at a cost of Rs 8 crore were dedicated by the CM.

Mr. Rupani laid foundation stones of e work of filling the lake with Panam reservoir at a cost of Rs. 315 crore and the filling of the lake with Panam High Level Canal at a cost of Rs. 138 crore. He also distributed land certificates to the affected people of Kabutari Dam and benefits to the farmers under the scheme of Agriculture Department.
