New Delhi: GujaratChief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupanitoday digitally inaugurated 61 various developmental works of Rs. 1016 crores of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation through video conference from Gandhinagar. He said that our government is a public centric government which satisfies the hopes and expectations of the people and takes quick decisions.Developmental steps and works are being carried out in the state timely.
In this context, Mr. Rupani said that “Our goal is to involve more and more people in developmental works, increase the urban well-being and increase the ease of living.”
Mr. Rupani digitally dedicated various 15 works of Rs. 256 crores and digitally laid foundation stones of various 46 public centric works of Rs. 760 crores through video conference in the presence of Minister of State for Home Department Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja, Ahmedabad Mayor Smt. Bijalben Patel, Standing Committee Chairman Mr. Amulbhai, Additional Chief Secretary to Urban Development Mr.MukeshPuri and Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. M. K. Das. He also digitally unveiled names of five bridges of AMC.
61 various developmental works of AMC also included computerized draw of 1184 houses prepared in Sabarmati, Paldi and Danilimda wards under slum rehabilitation and redevelopment policy of Pradhan MantriAwasYojana (PMAY).
Mr. Rupani had a telephonic interaction with the beneficiaries of the housing scheme through draw and wished them a bright and happy future and urged the beneficiaries to maintain cleanliness in the surroundings.
Despite the challenges of Covid pandemic Gujarat Government has shown firm determination towards the developmental works and maintained the pace of development in the state. This Government is at the forefront of urban development and has taken planned steps with Planning in Detail-Planning in Advance to ensure that the work is done quickly and the growth momentum continues.
Mr.Rupani expressed confidence that the development work of local urban authorities-local self-governing bodies will never be stopped due to lack of funds.
Mr. Rupani also highlighted the decision taken by the Government to permit high-rise buildings of more than 70 floors by amending the GDCR in five metro cities of the state.Now the cities of Gujarat and Ahmedabad have adopted the approach of development in the sky so that they can compete with the developed cities of the world.
Expressing the feeling of proud of including 4 cities of the state in the top-10 list of “SwachhSurvekshan 2020 Report” Mr. Rupani said that, our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has taken on hands a massive public movement for cleanliness and spread the mantra of “SwachtatyaPrabhuta” (where there is cleanliness there is god) of Mahatma Gandhi. He proudly said that not only Gujarat but the whole nation has adopted this mantra inspired by PM.
Mr. Rupani also briefed about the planning made by the state government to provide pure drinking water through tap to 100 percent houses of cities as well villages of the state before the upcoming Gandhi Jayanti on 02nd October. He also suggested the officials of the corporation to ensure that every household in the Ahmedabad metropolis has access to tap water.
Mr. Rupani also directed to purify drainage water through S.T.P with tertiary treatment and reuse it for agriculture, industry and other development works.As a result, Gujarat will become a water surplus state. Not only that, purification of wastewater will also speed up its reuse, he added.
Mr. Rupani said that Gujarat has proved its best to resolve our Prime Ministers vision to provide shelter to all by 2022.
Ahmedabad Mayor Smt. Bijalben Patel expressed confidence that the development works worth Rs 1,016 crore would improve the living standards of the citizens.
Under the visionary leadership of CM, Ahmedabad is striving to stand in the ranks of cities of the world by achieving integrated development. Not only that but Ahmedabad took the top spot in the ‘cleanest mega city’ that has a population of more than 40 lakhs.
