Dantewada IED Attack: CM Bhupesh Baghel gives shoulder to DRG jawan’s mortal remains (VIDEO)

New Delhi: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel gave a shoulder to and carried the mortal remains of a District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel who lost his life in an IED attack in Dantewada on April 26. He paid condolences to the bereaved families ones and talking to the media, he said that their sacrifice will not go in vain.

CM Bhupesh Baghel reached the spot to attend the last rites of a soldier martyred in the Naxal attack. He also gave an update about the incident and said that the soldiers were martyred in action as he received a report of a Naxal militant being injured in the clash. He added that the police have arrested two Naxal militants, while one is being treated in a medical facility, the other is in custody.

Talking about countering the Naxal threat, he said that they have built roads to aid soldiers and they have camped near the known headquarters of Naxal militants. He added that the incident will not break the morale of the administration and soldiers and they will fight back.

10 DRG personnel and a civilian, who was the driver of their vehicle, were killed in the IED attack in Dantewada. State police and higher officials began the search and evacuated the bodies.

PM Modi condemned the attack and paid condolences to the bereaved families. He also added that their sacrifice will always be remembered. Union Home Minister Amit Shah called it a ‘cowardly attack’ and extended the required support to the Chhattisgarh government. He had a telephonic conversation with CM Baghel to ensure the Centre’s support.
