‘Definition of irony’: Bureaucrat shares photo of truck carrying logs with ‘plant more trees’ written on it

New Delhi: Despite several campaigns against tree cutting, there are several instances of deforestation happening around India. Now, bureaucrat Awanish Sharan, who is known for quirky and informative posts, has shared an ironical picture on his Twitter which has left the Internet in splits.

The viral image shared by Awanish Sharan showed a truck carrying wooden logs, which were gathered after cutting down trees. However, this was not the thing that attracted netizens’ attention. It was the message written on the back of the vehicle. The message stated, “Plant more trees.”

Sharan captioned the post as “definition of Irony.”

The viral picture has received over 11,000 likes. The post has also been shared several times and the comment section has been flooded with numerous comments. 

One of the users wrote, ““Plant more trees” – so I can cut them. He is right, in context to his business,” while another said, “It is happening all over India.”

The third user stated, “No, business motto. You plant, we cut.”
