Delhi: The National Capital is witnessing another dangerous surge in the covid19 cases, sparking fears of a fourth Covid-19 wave. Seeing the rise in the cases, Government of Delhi has now made  wearing of face mask/cover in all public places mandatory.

The notification was issued by the Additional District Magistrate office of South Delhi, wearing masks in all public areas is now mandatory, and a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on those who are seen without their facemasks in such areas.

The fine under this provision of the notification will not be applicable to persons travelling together in private four-wheeler vehicles.

 

Covid19 in Delhi

Delhi reported over 2,146 new cases and 8 deaths on Wednesday. The positivity rate has gone up at 17.83 per cent.

On Tuesday, Delhi reported seven deaths from Covid-19 and 2,495 fresh cases.

The rise in the covid infection comes ahead of the festive season is becoming a cause of concern for the government as well as the public.

In the past 24 hours, India reported over 16,299 fresh cases and 19,431 recoveries. Taking active cases to 1,25,076,  Daily positivity rate at 4.58%.
