Exit Polls: BJP set to win over 250 seats in UP, sweep in 3 other states

New Delhi, March 9: In less than 48 hours from now, the results for hard-fought assembly elections in 5 states will be out.

Meanwhile, all the exit polls give BJP victory in Uttar Pradesh, followed by SP-Cong combine and BSP.

Uttar Pradesh:

According to India Today-Axis My India survey, the BJP is likely to win a staggering 251-279 seats in the 403-member assembly. SP is seen being bundled up below 100 mark while BSP will be wiped out.

UP - new

News24-Today’s Chanakya takes the figure even further. It projects BJP to command a clear majority with 285 seats on its own.

Uttar Pradesh table - New

The marathon UP assembly election, held over seven rounds of voting, is seen as a bellwether for the 2019 national election.


BJP is seen clearly winning the hilly state with most exit polls predicting ouster of the Congress government.

Uttarakhand - New

According to 4 exit polls, BJP may fetch anywhere between 38-53 seats – a clear majority in the 7-0-member Assembly.


The BJP is likely to secure majority in Goa. Congress and AAP seem to have failed to dislodge the BJP despite desperate high-octane campaign.


BJP is set to end Congress party’s 15-year rule in the state. Making huge inroads in the North-East, the party is likely to sweep state.

BJP is likely to win Manipur with 25-31 seats, followed by Congress with 17-23 seats.


The ruling Akali Dal is heading for a clear wipe out as it is not seen even claiming victory over 10 seats.

Punjab table

Kejriwal-led AAP is set to emerge as main Opposition party while Congress is seen emerging as the biggest party in state.
