Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar charged with rape under sections of POCSO in Unnao case

Delhi’s Tees Hazari court has also framed charges against Sengar’s accomplice Shashi Singh for kidnapping a minor girl.

New Delhi: Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been framed under sections of POCSO  in the Unnao rape case by the Delhi court.

Delhi’s Tees Hazari court has also framed charges against Sengar’s accomplice Shashi Singh for kidnapping a minor girl.

Charges have been framed against Kuldeep Singh Sengar under IPC sections 120b, 363, 366, 109, 376 (i) and 3 and 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO).

Supreme Court had recently transferred the Unnao rape case to Delhi and the Tees Hazari court is now holding daily hearings.

Unnao Rape survivor injured in a car accident

The Unnao woman who had accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar of raping her was severely injured along with other two after the vehicle in which she was travelling collided with a truck on a highway near Rae Bareli. She is battling for life after being critically injured in the accident and is now undergoing treatment at AIIMS.

The woman has alleged that she was raped by the BJP MLA at his residence in June 2017. Her father was booked by the police for illegal possession of firearms and put in jail in April 2018 after her family filed a case against the BJP MLA.
