New Delhi: The year 2021 has been a year full of twists and turns and it’s just a few days away to come to an end. Like every year, social media platforms are revealing their year-ender lists about what people talked about and searched the most. Google released a video on its official YouTube channel on Thursday featuring the top searches. The listing revealed that the Indians searched most about sports, news, entertainment, personalities among others.
Cricket and disease are the most searched topics of 2021. Among all searches on Google, cricket took the top position. Other searches were mostly related to the pandemic, due to the devastating Covid-19 second wave. Indians also showed interest in football and googled words like Euro Cup and Copa America.
The top five searches namely Indian Premier League, COWIN, ICC T20 World Cup, Euro Cup, and Tokyo Olympics. COWIN and Covid vaccine were the trending topics considering the commencement of the world’s largest vaccination drive. The 9th and the 10th place were occupied by Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra and Aryan Khan, son of Shahrukh Khan due to his involvement in drugs case, respectively.
