New Delhi: Bhartiya Janata Party is leading the Gujarat polls and is eyeing a massive victory in their fortress. One of BJP’s star candidates Rivaba Jadeja is also leading in the Jamnagar North constituency. Rivaba is not only cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife but also a big campaigner for her party and the results show a positive trend for her.

Rivaba replaced sitting MLA Dharmendrasinh Jadeja as the candidate for the party and is facing senior Congress leader Bipendrasinh Jadeja. As per the current updates by the Election Commission of India, Rivaba is leading in the constituency with 38867 votes, followed by Aam Aadmi Party’s Karshanbhai Karmur. Bipendrasinh Jadeja is standing in third place with 12397 votes as per the data by ECI.

Jamnagar has been an important seat in the Gujarat Assembly elections and BJP has made their stronghold there. With new candidate Rivaba leading in Jamnagar, the constituency will see a change from veteran politicians to fresh faces.

Some early trends showed that there is a chance for AAP candidate Karshanbhai Karmur to take away the victory. However, as ECI moved forward with the vote counting, Rivaba emerged as a leader.

BSP’s Advocate Jagdish Manshibhai Gadhavi along with the independent candidates have failed to make a mark in the Jamnagar North seat. A total of 11 candidates are clashing for the seat while Rivaba seems to be winning with a 52.58% vote share currently.

The elections in the Jamnagar North constituency were held on December 1, during the first phase of the Assembly polls.
