‘Gujarat HC’s order raises doubts…’: CM Arvind Kejriwal continues to demand PM Modi’s degree (VIDEO)

kejriwal press conference on pm degree

New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference and reiterated his demand while reasoning as to why there was a need for Prime Minister’s educational degree to go public. This press interaction comes after Gujarat High Court quashed CIC’s orders to furnish PM Modi’s graduation and post-graduation certificates under the Right to Information Act. Kejriwal alleged that the order of Gujarat HC has raised doubts about the PM’s degree.

Addressing the press, Arvind Kejriwal said that the nation is shocked as we live in a democracy and there should be freedom to ask for information. He clarified that being illiterate is not a crime but in the 21st century, it is important that India’s Prime Minister is educated.

He mentioned that PM has said statements like making tea with gas from drains and radar not catching the plane behind clouds, which no educated person would say. Giving the example of demonetisation, GST and farm laws, he said that a PM has to take various decisions in a day and if the PM would not be educated then people around him can manipulate him.

Kejriwal questioned should India’s PM should be educated or not.

Gujarat HC observed that the ‘character’ of a leader and concern for welfare matters more than his educational qualification. Justice Vaishnav also slammed CM Kejriwal for indiscriminate misuse of the salutary provisions of the RTI Act. The court agreed with the contentions of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the educational degree of PM Modi is already available in the public domain on Gujarat University’s website.

CM Kejriwal, on various instances, has been raising the issue of PM Modi’s educational qualification and has been asking for a degree.
