‘Hindu religion, a menace for entire world’: DMK leader A Raja’s remark ignites fresh row

Sharing the video, TN BJP chief tore into the DMK leader for his dislike & hatred for the Hinduism and also blasted him for blaming the Sanatana Dharma for covering their own failures.

A Raja

New Delhi: Amid the war of words over insult to Sanatan Dharma, DMK leader A Raja on Tuesday ignited fresh fire to the controversy with his anti-Hinduism rant.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai today shared a video of A Raja, in which the DMK leader purportedly says, “Hindu religion is a menace not only for India but for the entire world.”

The undated video is reportedly of a conversation between panel of guests, over online applications like Zoom or Google meet.

Sharing the video, TN BJP chief tore into the DMK leader for his dislike & hatred for the Hinduism and also blasted him for blaming the Sanatana Dharma for covering their own failures.

“DMK is the principal reason for creating caste divide & hatred in TN, and the DMK MP has the audacity to blame Sanatana Dharma for the mess they made,” Annamalai wrote.

Raja compared Sanatan with HIV

This is not the first time that A Raja hurled demeaning & humiliating jibes at Sanatan Dharma. Just days ago, he had compared Sanatan with diseases like Leprosy & HIV.

“There is neither a sense of disgust associated with malaria and dengue nor were they considered a social disgrace. What is looked upon with disgust was leprosy in the past and HIV in recent times. As far as we are concerned, it (Sanatana Dharma) should be looked upon as a disease which is a social disgrace like HIV and leprosy,’’ A Raja had said.

DMK chief MK Stalin’s son Udaynidhi Stalin was the first leader who stoked controversy with his outrageous remarks against Sanatan.

Uday Stalin compared the Sanatan Dharma with diseases like dengue & malaraia and called for its eradication.
Stalin’s comments drew strong reactions from BJP, which accused it of suffering from deep-rooted ‘Hinduphobia’.

Notably, the vitriolic remarks against Hinduism & Sanatan didn’t find favour within the INDIA bloc as most parties including the Congress distanced themselves from DMK minister’s remarks and called it party’s view and not the belief of 26-member alliance.
