What was reported in media
A leading daily reported that only 15,000-20000 people assembled for the rally which left BJP President disappointed and livid. The daily reported that this private conversation slipped through the microphone and was heard by those present at the dais.
What Amit Shah actually said at rally
The truth is that Amit Shah spoke about thin crowd at his rally while making his poll speech and not privately to BJP leaders, as reported.
What has been reported was just a part of his poll speech. Rest of his remarks are written below.
Addressing the crowd, Shah said, “I am suggesting a solution. Will you do what I say? He asked the crowd, which roared in compliance.”
“Will you give blessings to Modi government? Will you again vote for Raghubar government?”. Raghubar govt has given you mobile phone. Each of you should call up at least 40-50 people and ask them to vote for the lotus. Call your relatives… your uncle, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandfather, maternal uncle, maternal grandmother.. ask them to vote for BJP.
Lastly, when Shah asked all the supporters to raise their hands, everyone obliged.
