Lightning strike at Haridwar’s Har Ki Pauri damages transformer, wall caves in

New Delhi: Days after lightning strikes killed over hundred people in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, heavy rains and thunderstorm lashed Haridwar last night and triggered damages. However, it didn’t lead to any casualty.

As per reports, lightning struck near the near the Brahmakund at Har Ki Pauri following which a transformer caught fire and 80-foot wall caved in.

Since the mishap happened at night, it didn’t lead to any casualty or injury to anyone. After the transformer got damaged in the lightning strike, power supply was damaged in the area.

The area has been barricaded and operation is undergoing to repair the damages as well as the cleaning the debris from the site.

Devotees have been stopped from going towards the Brahmakund for now as a precautionary measure.
