After the failure to provide a safe space for women in the state government, the state government has decided to hand over the duty of the protection of residents in the medical hospitals to retired police personnel. According to the rules, police personnel who have retired in the last two years in the ranks from Inspector to Superintendents will be eligible. Similarly, retired personnel of the Indian Army and Indian Air Force are also eligible to apply.

Meanwhile, as the security of these hospitals is ramped up, a separate legal battle has started in the Supreme Court of India.

What are the guidelines of the Supreme Court?

The apex judiciary body of the country, i.e. the Supreme Court has given the following guidelines after the first hearing of the RG Kar case. The next hearing of the same will take place on the 22nd of August.
