New Delhi: Manoj Patil, bodybuilder and former Mr India attempted suicide at his residence in Oshiwara, Mumbai on Wednesday, by consuming sleeping pills. According to his family, he was rushed to city’s Cooper Hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
The 29-year-old bodybuilder, in his suicide note, has mentioned actor Sahil Khan’s name for mentally harassing him, thereby forcing to take the extreme step. Patil also stated that Khan defamed him on social media and created problems in his personal life.
Patil who won the Indian Body Builders Federation’s (IBBF) Mr India title in 2016 for best sports physique has also filed complaints against Sahil Khan to the Oshiwara Police Station for harassment and cyber-bullying.
Pari Naaz, Patil’s manager stated “He was being harassed for over a year. His phone number had been made viral. And last night he was with his friends and on his way home he went to a chemist shop and bought the pills. His friends weren’t aware what he took but when he reached home he didn’t even have dinner and fell unconscious. We then rushed him to hospital.”
Sahil says ‘no association’ with Patil, calls it publicity stunt
In response to claim Patil made, Sahil Khan said, “This could be a publicity stunt with a communal angle. I have had no association with Manoj.”
Both, the actor and Manoj Patil have been lately targeting each other on their Instagram accounts. The athlete did not blame the actor directly, however was seen mocking an unnamed individual who tried to defame him, tagging Sahil Khan in the caption.
On the contrary, Sahil Khan shared a video captioning it as “Manoj Steroid Wala Kaun hai? Any Idea! Believe it or not. For more watch my story.”
Athlete in stable condition
A doctor from the Cooper Hospital stated on September 16 afternoon that, “he has regained consciousness and is in a stable condition. We have taken samples from his body to find out what he had consumed. We have updated the concerned police officials about his health condition.”
