Minor raped in ICU: Compounder, unidentified men booked under POSCO
New Delhi: In an appalling incident, a minor girl admitted in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly was raped by a hospital staff and two unidentified men. The girl was in the ventilator and in a semi-conscious state during the ordeal, according to the complaint of her parents.
The 16-year old girl was admitted in a private hospital’s ICU on Badaun Road on October 29 after a snake bite, ANI reported. She told about her ordeal to her mother after she was shifted to the general ward.

The reported quoted Superintendent of Police (City), A Singh, as saying: “Victim narrated her ordeal after she was shifted to the general ward. A case has been registered and the investigation is underway.”
According to a Times of India report, police said the complaint names the compounder of the hospital, Sunil Singh, and four other unidentified men as accused. All five are currently absconding.
A case has been registered against the accused under section 376D (gangrape) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of POCSO Act.
