New Delhi: In a historic turn of events, Zoram People’s Moment (ZPM) won the Mizoram 2023 State Legislative Elections to form their government for the first time in the state.
They secured the majority being their closest opponents, Mizo National Front (MFN), by a significant margin.
ZPM chief and chief ministerial candidate Lalduhoma said he will meet the Governer, on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

The results of the Mizoram State Legislative Assembly Elections are out on Monday, revealing the final verdict on all the 40 seats in the state.
Mizoram was one of the five states whose elections took place last month, but the results of the election were announced one day after the results of all the others, as announced earlier by the Election Commission of India.
The primary battle in the state was between the two local parties, Mizo National Front (MNF) and Zoram People’s Moment (ZPM).

2018 Election Results
On November 28, 2018, the last legislative assembly election was conducted in Mizoram to choose representatives for each of the state’s forty seats. In the election, the Mizo National Front won 26 seats, making it the first instance in the history of Indian politics where Congress was not in the charge of any state in Northeast India.
