Dongri building collapse: Death toll mounts to 7, many feared trapped (Video)

New Delhi: At least, seven people were killed and eight others were injured in the collapse of four-storeyed Kesarbai building in the city’s Dongri area, police said on Tuesday.

The building collapsed at 11 am today on Tandel Street in Dongri area, initially killing two persons and trapping over 40 people under its debris.

Three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are engaged in rescue operations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of people in the building collapse.

The Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), BMC said a shelter has been opened at Imamwada Municipal Secondary Girls’ School after the mishap.

Teams from Fire brigade and National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) rushed their teams to the site and are carrying out rescue operations.

Five fire brigade vehicles are present at the spot.
