Noida: Stray dogs tears out intestines of 7-month-old in Lotus Boulevard society, infant dies in hospital

New Delhi: In a horrific incident, an infant was mauled to death by stray dogs in posh residential society in Noida on Monday evening. The strays even pulled out child’s intestines from his belly. The instance has caused major panic amongst the locals, leading to tensions between the society members and dog lovers, who reportedly feed the strays inside the premises.

The unfortunate incident occurred in Lotus Boulevard society, Sector 100.

The baby has been identified as Arvind, son of a daily wager, whose mother Sapna Devi had gone to work when the attack took place.

According to the reports, the society residents intervened when they heard the screams of the child, however, he had sustained serious injuries by then. The child was immediately rushed to nearby Yatharth Hospital at around 6.30 pm, with his intestines coming out of his stomach.

The child went through several operations, but could not be saved despite earnest efforts by the doctors.

The society residents told that incidents of stray dog attacks on people inside the society has taken place earlier as well. They further added that they want the dogs to be removed from the premises, but have been facing pressure from dog lovers.

Meanwhile, several dog attacks have been reported in the national capital region in recent times, post which the Ghaziabad municipal body even banned several breeds of dogs including Pitbull and Rottweiler.
