‘PayCM’ posters put up in Bengaluru, Cong slams Bommai govt with ‘40% sarkar’ jibe

Pay CM

New Delhi: Sharpening its attack on the Bommai government in Karnataka, the state Congress unit put up posters of the Chief Minister along with QR codes across Bengaluru on Wednesday.

The ‘PayCM’ posters have an image of Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai and also a QR code attached on it, that will reportedly take users to www.40percentsarkara.com.

The QR code, when scanned via phone, will take the users to ’40 percent Sarkara’ website that was recently unveiled by Congress to lodge complaints against malpractices & corruption in government.

The poster attack on Bommai government comes amid intensifying war of words between the two national parties as both are vying for greater share of votes in the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections.

The unique mode of protest by Congress is also garnering enough eyeballs.

By claiming 40% sarkar, the Congress hopes to corner the governor over alleged corruption in govt departments. The party claims that 40% commission has become the norm under current BJP regime. It also launched a toll-free helpline 8447704040 and urged citizens to register their complaints of corruption & graft by calling up this number.

The Congress claims that 40% commission has become the norm in the current regime and asked the ruling BJP govt to stop graft happening under its watch.

Top Congress leaders have targeted Bommai government and accused it of shielding looters & scamsters.

BJP counters Cong attack

State BJP unit hit back at the Congress party and called it a co-ordinated campaign for showing the government in bad light ahead of Assembly elections.

“Empty & hollow allegations won’t yield any results. State is going to polls in next 7 months. But, the 40% commission charge by Congress, which it thinks will be its trump card will prove to a flopshow again,” said a state BJP leader.
