Poonch: 7 terrorists involved in terror attack on Army convoy that killed 5 Army jawans, says Sources

New Delhi: A day after five soldiers of Rashtriya Rifles lost their lives to into the Poonch terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, now the Prime facie investigation have revealed that at least seven terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group were involved in this.

This is the terror fourth incident involving Indian Army casualties in the Poonch-Rajouri area.

The spot where the incident took place is about 7 km from Bhimber Gali in the Line of Control (LoC).

As this area is a thickly-forested, it is said that the jihadists were hiding in the jungles and were waiting to attack the Army convoy.

According to the inputs from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the LeT terrorist used attacked the Army vehicle with grenades and assault rifles.

However, it is not clear on weather the truck caught fire through the direct RPG hit or was set on fire by terrorists after the gunning down the Indian troopers.

Indian Army Launches Massive Operation

Meanwhile, the Indian Army has launched a massive operation in the area on Friday to hunt down a group of around six to seven terrorists who are behind this deadly attack.

In this search operation, the Army, Police and Intelligence Agencies are coordinating with each other.

The incident took place on Thursday (April 20) when the Army vehicle was moving from Bhimber Gali to Sangiot in the Poonch district.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday said that out of the five jawans who died in the attack, four belonged to Punjab.
