President Ram Nath Kovind unveils Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s life-size portrait in Parliament (Video)

The decision to install the portrait of the Bharat Ratna was taken in December during the meeting of Parliament’s Portrait Committee chaired by the Lok Sabha Speaker.

President Ram Nath Kovind today unveiled the life size portrait of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Central Hall of Parliament. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Ministers and leaders of various parties were present during the event.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away last year

Atal Bihari Vajpayee had served as the Prime Minister thrice and he was conferred Bharat Ratna in 2015. He passed away in August last year at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness.
