Priyanka breaks silence on Article 370, terms its abrogation unconstitutional

“The manner in which it has been done is completely unconstitutional and it’s against all the principles of democracy. There are rules to be followed when such things are done, which were not followed,” Priyanka Gandhi said.

New Delhi: Breaking silence on the abrogation of Article 370, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday said that rules were not followed and thus the move was ‘completely unconstitutional’.

“The manner in which it has been done is completely unconstitutional and it’s against all the principles of democracy. There are rules to be followed when such things are done, which were not followed,” Priyanka said while talking to media during visit to Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra village where 10 tribals were shot dead over a land dispute.

The revocation of Article 370 has taken away the special status of Jamu and Kashmir. The border state will soon be bifurcated into two Union territories — Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
