New Delhi: In yet another sensational twist to the political turmoil in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena MLA Nitin Deshmukh has ‘returned’ to the Uddhav camp and making serious allegations against the party rebels camped in Guwahati.
“I am with Uddhav Thackeray,” he declared while speaking to press.
Sena legislator Nitin Deshmukh had apparently sided with rebel leader Eknath Shinde, however, he appeared before the cameras and claimed that he was kidnapped and forcefully taken to Gujarat’s Surat district. He also said that he managed to ‘escape from captivity’ and also stated that he continues to support Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.

They wanted to operate on me, harm me under that pretext. By God's grace, I'm alright. I am with Uddhav Thackeray" pic.twitter.com/r1uSOMK0IS

Nitin Deshmukh admitted that he was in Gujarat with the rebel camp but claimed that when he tried escaping from there, large number of policemen surrounded him and also forcibly tried to get my surgery done.
“I escaped and was standing on the road at around 3 in the morning trying to hitch a ride from passersby when over a hundred cops came and took me to a hospital. They pretended that I had a heart attack and tried to conduct some medical procedure on my body,” he said.
The development comes almost 2 days after Deshmukh’s wife filed a missing complaint for him at police station.
Eknath Shinde has claimed that he has the support of 40 Sena MLAs who have willing decided to snap ties with the party as it is deviating from Hindutva agenda. In conversation with newsmen, he said that the rebel camp wants Sena to return to the BJP fold and follow Hindutva agena, as envisaged & practiced by Balasaheb Thackeray.
However, the surprising disclosure by Nitin Deshmukh has created a flutter and opened room for speculations whether the Sena rebels have been forcibly moved to Assam, as the latter has alleged BJP hand in ‘plotting’ such a crisis.
