Shehla Rashid took Rs 3 crores in cash, giving me death threats: Father makes explosive claims

In a written complaint to the DGP, Jammu and Kashmir police, Shehla Rashid’s father claims that his daughter has aligned with ‘anti-national elements’ and is giving him death threats.

New Delhi: Abdul Rashid Shora, the father of Shehla Rashid on Monday made sensational and explosive claims against the former JNU student and ex-general secretary, J&K Peoples’ Movement.

In a written complaint to the DGP, Jammu and Kashmir police, Shehla’s father claims that his daughter has aligned with ‘notorious people’ and is giving him death threats.

In the letter to J&K DGP, Abdul Rashid Shora claimed that Shehla took Rs 3 crores in cash to join Kashmir centric politics.

“There are anti-national activity going on in my house,” he wrote in letter to the DGP.

He also demanded ‘mysterious financial dealing with’ Feroz Peerzada, Zahoor Watali (arrested by NIA) & Rasheed Engineer.

Seeking security cover from DGP, Abdul Rashid claimed that Shehla is being supported by his elder daughter Asma Rashid, his wife Zubeida Shora and one security guard named Sakib Ahmad.

Abdul Rashid claimed that 2 months before arrest of Zahoor Watali in terror funding case under UAPA, he was called by Zahoor Watali and Rasheed Engineer (Ex-MLA) at Watali’s residence in Srinagar. They offered him, during the meeting Rs 3 crores for Shehla to join these notorious people,” he wrote.

“As I felt that the money is coming from illegal channels and shall be used for unlawful activities i did not take money and later asked my daughter to not indulge in any such transactions with these people. Despite my resistance, I found my wife Zubeida Shora and elder daughter Asma Rashid to be supportive of Shehla and becoming party to this deal along with 1 more person Sakib Ahmad who is a downtown boy who was introduced to me as her personal security man by Shehla as he used to carry a pistol with him,” he wrote.

Former JNU student Shehla Rashid took to Twitter to counter claims by her father.

Shehla called her father a ‘wife-beater and an abusive, depraved man” and said, “We finally decided to act against him, and this stunt is a reaction to that.”
